Chiron

AI that coaches the parent, not the child.

An invisible tutor's assistant that grows with your child.

What it is

Chiron is a private AI that observes a parent's day with their child and helps the parent teach better. The parent stays the tutor. Chiron does the bookkeeping a great human tutor does silently — tracking what's been learned, what's emerging, what's worth revisiting tomorrow — and surfaces it as gentle, well-timed suggestions.

The child never interacts with the system, never sees a screen, never knows it exists. Childhood does not become a job.

The approach

Mastery learning, not coverage.

Borrowed from Math Academy: a knowledge graph of prerequisite skills, spaced retrieval, deliberate interleaving. The rigor of a well-run curriculum, applied invisibly.

Aristocratic tutoring, at home.

Following Erik Hoel's argument: unhurried, curiosity-led, one-on-one. The parent is the intellectual companion. Chiron just makes sure the right thread gets picked up at the right moment.

Private by construction.

Your conversations, captures, and the child's developmental record are never sold, never used to train models, and never readable by us — a guarantee built into the architecture, not a policy you have to trust. Run it on hardware you own, or in a confidential cloud no operator can read; the guarantee holds either way.

Why now

Large language models are finally good enough — and cheap enough — to run a thoughtful, private coaching loop for a fraction of a human tutor's cost. The economics of one-on-one tutoring have been broken for two thousand years. They are about to stop being broken.

Status

Chiron is in private alpha with a small group of founding families. We're opening up slowly and carefully — leave your email and we'll reach out as we add families.
